DCC Students, Staff, and Faculty can request items that the library does not own through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program.  To request an item, you would need to fill out a Book Request Form or an Article Request Form.  Once you've filled out the form, the request goes to our librarians to request from another library.  If the request is fulfilled, the item will be mailed to the Library.  For online items, we'll email you a digital copy or a link for downloading the item.  For physical items, we'll notify you when the item is available, and you can check out the item at the Circulation Desk at Barksdale Library.

The following items cannot be requested through Interlibrary Loan:

  • Materials which are on order or in our collection,
  • Current popular titles,
  • Materials which were published within the 2 years,
  • Textbooks, especially recent editions
  • Books not yet in print,
  • Pamphlets, and archival materials,
  • Rare materials, manuscripts, or fragile items
  • Reference books,
  • The entire issue of a magazine or journal,
  • Audio-visual materials,
  • Items older than 60 years,
  • Requests which may violate copyright limitations.

You can find out more information on the ILL program on the Interlibrary Loan page.
