Can I show videos from Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. to my students in class? Can the library provide those videos?

In general, instructors can't use their personal accounts with streaming services to screen videos to students. Services like Netflix and Amazon Prime have licensing terms that you agreed to when you signed up for the service. Those licensing terms typically say that you may only use the service for "personal use," which does not include public screenings like in a classroom.

Depending on the video, the library may already provide it via the video streaming services that we subscribe to. We don't have a way to easily provide specific videos on demand, as frustrating as that is. Please contact Erin Crane (ecrane@germanna.edu) if you want to make a request.
