Do you charge overdue fines for books?

Answer

No, we do not charge overdue fines.  We do charge overdue fines for laptops borrowed through the G.O.A.L. program for the entire semester ($5/day with a max fine of $35).

If you never return the book(s) you borrowed, you will be billed for the replacement cost of the book(s).  A hold will be placed on your account, so you can't get your grades or transcripts.  Your account will also be turned over to a collections agency and sent to Virginia's Debt Setoff program.  Your tax returns will be garnished to pay for the overdue books.  The library books are state property, and we are obligated to charge you for them if they are not returned.
